Cannabis works through the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Cannabis treats migraines
The theory of endocannabinoid deficiency has been propagated by acclaimed cannabis researcher Dr. Ethan Russo. In a study published in NCBI, Russo found that a deficiency in endocannabinoids is a contributing factor to the development of migraines. THC acts in a similar way to the endocannabinoid called anandamide; it binds to CB1 receptors in the brain and could be useful in the treatment of migraines associated with menopause.
